I am Assistant Director of Information Technology (IT) in the Office of International Programs within the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences at Cornell University. I work with many departments and units on campus in a variety of roles. In my primary role, however, I serve as an IT strategist, focusing on product development and delivery, systems integration, and data architecture.
I moved to Ithaca, New York, from Miami, Florida, in 1997 to attend Cornell University. After graduating with a Bachelor’s Degree in French Literature, I decided to stay in Ithaca because Cornell offered me a unique opportunity to help developing nations around the world in a way I never anticipated.
Does it make a difference?
My passion in life is philanthropic work. There is so much in the world that needs to be done. Generous organizations and humanitarians, such as the Rockefeller Foundation, USAID, Warren Buffett, and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, all do their part to address major global issues everyday. The more donors there are in the world, the better, with the understanding that careful planning must always occur to ensure the greatest impact with the least amount of harm to the environment, wildlife, and people.
